Establishing an endowed scholarship

This is a great way to leave a lasting legacy at Mt. SAC and support students for generations to come. You can build a permanently endowed fund that is invested with the total Foundation portfolio. Interest earned off the investment funds an annual award in perpetuity. The minimum gift required to create an endowment is $37,500. An endowment can be built over a period of years. For example, it is common that someone will create an endowment with a $7,500 commitment annually for five years. Each year, we award a $1,500 scholarship and put $6,000 into the fund. At the end of that time period, you will have awarded five scholarships and created an endowment fund that will generate a $1,500 annual award on its own after that.
