Mt. SAC Foundation COVID-19 Response
In the midst of this unprecedented public health crisis, the Mt. SAC Foundation wants to assure you that your dollars are hard at work. Students who rely on your support are even more appreciative of your generosity at this time. Our faculty are responding to the demands of transitioning curriculum online within a matter of days, and student support services—including counseling—are accommodating needs while maintaining safeguards to protect the health of all. Since this is a rapidly evolving situation, we are asking our community to follow Mt. SAC’s health alert site for the latest information: mtsac.edu/health.
While these changes are occurring, the Mt. SAC Foundation will continue to support student programs and initiatives. Please consider helping Mt. SAC students through this difficult time. Because we are working remotely at this time and aren't in the office to receive mail, we are asking you to support us by making your gift online. We will send receipts electronically, and when the Foundation team returns to in-office operations, we can make physical copies available. Our Mt. SAC family has already been hit hard by this crisis. Community college students are particularly vulnerable to the challenges ahead, but we know our Mounties are also particularly resilient.
We are grateful that many from the community have asked how they can help. Here are some ways to support the immediate needs of Mt. SAC students:
Basic Needs Fund – providing food resources, personal necessities, housing referrals and case-management support
Mt. SAC Foundation Board of Directors Scholarship – general scholarship for students with financial need
Together, we can make sure Mt. SAC students get the vital aid they need for themselves and their families. Your support ensures we can meet our students' urgent and evolving needs—so they can stay afloat and stay in school.
The Foundation is proud to support the College’s food pantry, which has become a drive-thru to accommodate the current public health crisis. Read more about how the food pantry is operating these days.
