The Foundation and Alumni Association are proud to support Culturama: Weekend of the Arts on Mt. SAC’s campus. This three day event is a celebration of art in all its forms—from writing to painting and everything in between.
Culturama started 13 years ago when Mt. SAC professors John Brantingham and Lloyd Aquino realized students and other community members never got the chance to attend literary conferences because of the cost. They wanted to provide a space and environment for the Mt. SAC community to engage with art on all levels and really “connect to the literary and arts scene” in the area.
“So many people think that there’s nothing going on here, but that’s incorrect,” says Brantingham, who is Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park’s first poet laureate. “The arts in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys are vibrant, and this is one place to find out about them. The energy and spirit of the weekend is amazing. I love to see how people develop and grow over the weekend. They learn so much about themselves and the arts.”
The Foundation will be providing food, and we hope you can join us for this special weekend!
