Bio
I’m a 55 year resident of Walnut and have been teaching at Mt. SAC for over 25 years. I’m a graduate of Walnut HS and attended Mt. SAC before earning a BA from UCSB and a Masters from Azusa Pacific. I taught and coached at Walnut HS from 1989-1994, where I started the sport of girls water polo. I then started women's water polo at Mt. SAC (and was head women's water polo and women's swimming coach for nine years along with the men's programs). I’m the son of long time Mt. SAC employees (Don and Sandra Ruh) and am married to Lani Ruh (also a faculty member and coach at Mt. SAC). We have two children, Campbell Ruh and Riley Ruh. The Ruh Family created (along with Mt. SAC's A.S.) and currently owns Mt. SAC's companion mascot, Montie the Mountain Dog.
Why Mt. SAC?
Mt. SAC has been my home for much of my life and most of my work life. I am extremely appreciative of the way Mt. SAC's faculty, managers, and employees take great ownership in what they do and how they do it. I appreciate that Mt. SAC listens to their employees and most importantly to their students. I appreciate that Mt. SAC is a huge school, but feels very much like a small campus. I appreciate that Mt. SAC is forward thinking and not reactive. Mt. SAC is and has been so much for so many people over the years. Mt. SAC is truly an amazing institution at every level. It is an honor to help serve our students and programs through the Foundation.
