Violeta Arrata Scholarship

Violeta Arrata was a medical doctor in Ecuador, South America, who came to the United States in search of a better life for her family. While undocumented in those early years, Violeta took full advantage of Mt. San Antonio College night classes to learn English, and eventually became a nurse at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. This scholarship is a way to highlight the sacrifice immigrants of all ages make in order to advance their careers and provide for their families..
