Bio

With her most recent promotion as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Kaiser Permanent Baldwin Park Medical Center, Ruby Gill has executive oversight of local Hospital/Health Plan functions including Utilization Management, Operations Support Services, Member Services, Facilities Management, Care Experience, and several other operational areas. Ruby brings 22 years of Hospital Operations and Nursing experience at KP, starting as a staff Registered Nurse at the KP Anaheim Medical Center and quickly moving into progressively responsible leadership roles. In her tenure at KP, Ruby has been recognized for her relentless drive toward achieving exemplary patient care and work environment outcomes. Prior to becoming the COO of Kaiser Baldwin Park, she has served as the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) of the KP Irvine Medical Center for 10 years. Through Ruby’s leadership, the Irvine Medical Center has achieved several milestones and consistently accomplished Region-leading performance on a number of initiatives. Most notably, Ruby was instrumental in leading Irvine to become the very first Magnet-designated hospital in the KP system. In addition, Irvine achieved NICHE designation, TJC program certification for the Total Joint Replacement program, and consistently outperformed nurse sensitive indicators as compared to national benchmarks. Through her commitment to the Labor and Management partnership, she carved a path forward in galvanizing a path of professionalism and workforce engagement. Leveraging a unifying approach, Ruby believes in the strength of the team to achieve great success.

Ruby earned her Associates in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary’s College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Business Administration/Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from American Sentinel University. In addition to her degree attainment, Ruby completed the KP Executive Leadership program through the Harvard Business School and earned the American Nurses Credentialing Center Nurse Executive Board Certification.

While her commitment to the Kaiser organization and the patients they serve is unmatched, she revels in spending time with her three girls, husband and extended family. Ruby is active in her religious community, seeking various volunteer activities, and also enjoys hiking.
