Humans of Mt. SAC

Mt. San Antonio College has always been more than a college or a campus. It’s a community. Humans of Mt. SAC focuses on members of that community, creating a space for them to tell us their journey to, at, and maybe even after Mt. SAC. If you’ve ever spent a minute at Mt. SAC, you know that everyone here has a story, and we can’t wait to tell as many as we can. If you have a story you think we should hear - or know someone who does - send an e-mail with the subject line “Humans of Mt. SAC” to foundation@mtsac.edu.

The Perla Sisters

Lenore and Herb Boss

Herb and Lenore Boss

Meet Mt. SAC alumni couple, Lenore and Herb Boss. They met in the summer of 1948 and discovered that they both had plans to attend Mt. SAC that fall. The young couple’s romance blossomed alongside their academic pursuits, all with Mt. San Antonio as the backdrop.

Douglas Craven

Douglas Craven’s relationship with Mt. SAC began in the early 1990s, when he was first a student here. After a career path that included funeral homes and big rigs, he found himself back and ready to pursue his dream: teaching. Being back at Mt. SAC after thirty years was eye-opening for Douglas, and he found himself invigorated by all the new perspectives he learned from his classmates, many of whom were decades younger than him.
